Benefits of quitting cannabis

Last night was aweful, I rang the dealer who said he would get back to and didn't so instead for the first time in my life I looked for help on the net and found this forum. Having read many links and posts from this site has really helped me strenghthen my resolve to quit. I realise that as I can't control my habit, the only way to get rid of the demon is FOREVER to abstain. So I have deleted the dealers phone numbers from my phone. I am really determined to have a life, cause I can see for 30 odd years I have been self destructive and I still feel I have far too much potential to waste the rest of my life. I am so grateful to my husband who is so supportive.

  I wanted to take the time to say an extreme thank you for contacting me on here. Any activity is good!!!  I have been looking around and reading posts and replies of folks here that are definately helping me mentally. Seeing you here is very inspiring and your PASSION and resolve to quit jumps through the screen as i`m sure you type your heart here aswell! 

When I read this post, It rang true! I have tried to quit a number of times in the past and sometimes for months. The longest I lastest was about 180 day stretch. I had been feeling great as I could although still having that huge urge)(desire to smoke then i caved. That was February 11, 2010.  I remember it still because of the guilt I had about feeling I couldn`t tell my love at the time. I have ramped up from then to a regular habitual daily smoke routine.She left me in December and I have been devistated really we had a beautiful thing and since I`m the person who was in the relationship with all of the issues from my weed use things became so strained and Its so sad! But that feeling will get better!

 When the seconds feel like hours, waiting for the dealer to get back to you. That is an agaonizing part existence for us;  who really know there is more to this than that!

 I`m glad that not getting a hold of your dealer was a catalyst for you to find this site! I like you realise that  I can't control the habit, the only way to get rid of this is to abstain FOREVER. I just lost and REALLY lost a beautiful women.

I want sayyou are lucky to have your husband there supporting you on the home front ! It is very nice to see your inner love gratitude!

You`re strength is helping me, I believe that this is what 2012 is about. We can connect in a very positive, ongoing supportive style to bring more of us into OUR OWN BEST PLACES!

I am going try to copy my posts in the future and try reposting.  I got discouraged after both of my lengthy posts got deleted and I caved.

Thank you for your hosesty and support, day 5 today for me and I am feeling so positive. Try not to dwell on what your smoking has lost for you and try to be positive about what being free of pot can do for you. It is all a learning experience and when you succeed you will draw new relationships and love. Good luck
