hi james,

not to good buddy recently thought about quiting or cutting down to next to nothing I have smoked skunk everyday for the last 12 years probably 4 months without in 12 years. I don't have relapse as I never stopped, I have nothing in my life at all apart from family, I have been living on the wrong side of the law for years. I have also developed a cannabis allergy I guess through over exposure which consists of massive pressure in my head and my sinuses closing etc like a histamene (its real just google it) I dont smoke tobacco or rizla, I am smoking now and will probly smoke tomorrow but slowly I am gonna try and quit I am in the first quater century of my life. I am the worst weed addict I have ever known or heard of, apart from that guy from pantera

HI 5hell :)

hey that sounds familar i had a reaction like that a couple of times!    It can be hard giving up weed but i think its good to know what you are like without it.

Do you know if your ocd is cannabis related?   I guess it would be hard to tell if it is if you have been smoking every day for 12 years... I suffered with anxiety and paranoia and depression while smoking,  when i stopped these things stopped as well after a while so i think they were connected....or it was easier to deal with them straight anyway - i do still suffer a bit but nowhere near as bad as when i was smoking.   Ive quit for 3 months now after smoking every day for 20 years -     Most of my cravings have gone by now although I quite often think that I could  do it now and then and not go back to being addicted -  but i know that Im not cured of my addiction, it would soon start to gain power over me (instead of me over it !)

I think thinking about stopping and trying to cut down is a great positive step for you - it can help to have a few practise runs and seeing how you deal with it without being too hard on yourself.  Keep posting , you will get good feedback on here. I check the posts most days and try to leave a reply.

All the best,  JIM :)

hi,

I completly agree with you really: do just need to quit or cut down to hardly ever, *would like to think I could smoke once a month or every few month & I think if I had more things going on around me, I could do, (unsure if it is from weed) or not but my ocd is mild!
