Benefits of quitting cannabis

This will be my first Christmas in 10 years without cannabis.  At present my life is so

busy and so full that it's hard for me to comprehend how I could have gotten through it all before while stoned.  I smoked every day all day and sometimes all night.  I

started my 'quit' on the autumnal equinox- so today, the winter solstice is 3 full months.  Still have occasional urges - but the night sweats have finally stopped, dreams are normal and my mood seems far less eratic than it was.

I hope all of you out there know how signifiant this has been for me.  With weed I had pretty much lost my incentive to do anything - to repair relationships or start new ones - to read and study and improve my mind - to SING again!!!  My throat feels normal, my mind clear and my energy returning. 

THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU who have helped me through this.  I know the forum is quiet right now - I am hoping you are all away celebrating the holidays season with loved ones and looking forward to a brave and glorious new year.  I look to it with some apprehension - feeling I'm treading new ground - or old paths long forgotten.  But it has promise of growth and excitement that I had given up on in my advancing years. 

If you are out there thinking about quitting for the new year - use the next few days to strengthen your resolve.  It helped me to make a list of the benefits of quitting against the benefits of smoking.  It was quite convincing.  Whatever it takes to get yourselv to that point - at least give this a try.  It will change your life in such positive ways.  Then come here and keep a journal and let us help you through it.
