First of all, i would like to to indicate that my addictivness to weed is only 2 years long...compared to some other people here that is nothing. but after all, 700 days of daily weed consumption takes you aswell...

Two years ago i installed DSL internet in my home. But because the router is two floors down, my internet signal wasn't that strong, i could only catch it in the living room and the kitchen, not my bedroom. I can't go to bed without my laptop or the internet. I was so lazy at that time, that i practically turned my living room into my bedroom. Can you imagine that ? I was sleeping on a couch that can be turned into a bed by a simple move....but i never, never would turn it back into a couch when i wake up. I would never keep my bed clean, i would eat there, smoke, drink, everything. I didn't mind that, as long as i was satisfied and didn't have to do pretty much anything.

Today i moved the router along with the cables to another position so now i can catch the signal even in my room. It took me 10 bloody minutes. And then i thought to myself what a simple thing to do, and i was so lazy i needed two years to do it.

I cleaned the house and made some pasta with bacon today for lunch. I didn't make lunch in months. It was so delicious to eat something you made by yourself.I took the guitar that was in my closet for ages and started learning the basics. I couldn't really remember when was the last time i was prepared to start something from the scratch...I took the ladder from the basement and changed the light in front of my house. I walked in the dark for weeks but never took the will to do a simple operation that lasted 1,5 minutes.

And lastly...i sit up everytime i'm done with a ciggarete and throw it in the bathroom...way better than filling the ashtray up until it stinks like hell...

energy and the will to live, that's all i missed. And only 5 days without weed were needed to achive that.

Yeah for day 5!  I wish I had decided to quit 8 years ago - I was certainly addicted after the first 2 years.  Instead I've been trying to quit almost as long as you've been smoking - and the longer you wait, the harder it is.  I hope you have read here too that many people quit and then start again - each time to a stronger habit.  So don't even think about starting again!! - Days when the urge is strong, I rely on the things others have said about restarting.

You're so wise to do this now and take control of your life.   Keep it going!!  Every day is a victory!
