Seems Everyone is struggling with the 'what do i do instead' part of this..Lets help each other out. Just list 'things to do'. As I know my mind has been blank im guessing others have too.

Eat an Apple

Look through the links page

Write a blog.(blogger.com or wordpress are the easiest ive found)

Tea/Coffee/hot choc

clean the toilet(all of it incl the top and the back!)

clear out 1 kitchen cupboard(leave the others for the next craving)

Look for blackheads spots etc(c'mon weve all done it,its satisfying)

Paint your nails

Go through your clothes and throw something out.

Sort the washing pile.

Youtube

Go to twitter search cannabis and disagree with most of the results.

Dust your windowsills

Seek out and throw any pens that dont work

look for split ends in your hair

turn everything off and see if you can hear the neighbours conversations(its not stalkin)

untangle all the wires in your place

think up some more things for this list.

look for your house on google earth

  • Have a bath
  • Prepare a meal for someone else (if you have no appetite)
  • Go out for a long walk in the countryside ( excersize is amazing for speeding up the detox )
  • Treat yourself, deny yourself only one thing, and let that be 'cannabis' Apart from smoking cannabis, let yourself do anything ( within reason ) that you need to do to get through this
  • Eating healthy is much advised as part of the cannabis quit, but don't be too harsh on yourself, you're already giving up the habit of a life time, be easy opn your body until you're over the worse , You will find after this time better eating habits come more naturally anyway .
  • Make lists , don't dwell for too long on how much time and life you have wasted in your former stoned days, but instead look to the future and what you want and hope to acchieve , making lists it a great way to remove the intensity of the thought from your brain .
  • Dvds, movies, computer games, these are all things that often go hand in hand with smoking time'' for addicts, but try and force yourself to enjoy them without the need for a smoke, It can be different, but can also make you see how you don't need cannabis to use these things .
  • Be creative, write, draw, paint , read some poetry , remind yourself you do NOT rely on cannabis as your creative streak '
  • Ring family, ring friends, ring anyone you know, notice how your confidence is coming back while you're talking to them notice how your thoughts are clearer and how much easier it is to express yourself
  • Plan events, and know that you stand a much better chance of turning up to them as a new non stoned. Plan a trip to the cinema or another social venue which you would have previously been too paranoid and stoned to show up to
  • Be kind to yourself and keep doing it , reward yourself where ever and whenever possible with the promise of weed free treats in whatever form you see fit for the time being
  • do not punish yourself for years of wasted time, this can prove hugely detremental to any quit , as the feelings of guilt will only produce feelings of self destruct .
  • Paint the house, re arrange the furniture , wash the car, any house hold chores and changes that you're not used to will keep you busy and make you feel proud when they have been completed  .

This is all very small scale stuff, but we are all in a very fragile position at the moment, and every little helps.

I just can't wait for the end of today , and tomorrow for the first time In a long time, I'll be able to say .... DAY 2 !

all for now .

Great suggestions every one, illma &  Cat!   I appreciate the word "fragile" - that describes it really well.    Even when doing household things, I can work myself up into a frantic mood, and have to step back and take a deep breath A LOT.   My heart is in this for both of you, as much as for myself.
