Hi all
im new to the site but was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice. Im trying to quit and im not sleeping at all now that ive given up my usual "couple before bed"
Anyone got any suggestions to help me sleep without having to light up, the lack of sleep is doing my head in!

Hi Afro,
i am in my 1st week of giving up and have not suffered from lack of sleep. The way i am trying is a good hard days work, excercise when i get home a good square meal and plenty of camomile tea, and a very large mug about 1/2 an hour before i go to bed. so far it seems to be working. good luck !!

I find a couple of drops of Lavender in a luke warm bath helps me sleep , I once read somewhere that a luke warm bath before sleeping helps you sleep better than a roasting hot bath , I don't know why it works, but for me it does . Insomnia is one of my main problems I face when trying to quit cannabis and it drives me crazy . In fact my first few days 'sober' are usually spent awake, this is a big part of the reason I find it so difficut to get past the initial quit days . Try the lavender afro, and like 'no more for me' said , camomile tea can also be very relaxing , especially if they're replacing caffine fuelled drinks . Well done to both of you for coming this far, I only wish I could do the same . Lacey

i am glad lavender works for you, but being a bloke i think i will stick to camomile tea as it seems to knock me out if i drink 2 cups in the hour before i go to bed. i find fresh air with a bit of excersice helps too. the nights i do not excercise i can definateley feel the difference when i am trying to get to sleep. keep up with the challenge

haha , mmmm Lavender , Do you find you have crazy horrible dreams ? That's also something that I suffer with when it comes to sleep and giving up cannabis ! :-( Most the time I don't sleep , and then when I can , I have really fucking horrible dreams . Are you both in the UK too ? Newcastle here .

you said it, they are a fucking nightmare!! literally. i hope they go away soon. most people say they get the flushed in the night but i am getting them in the day too. is it because i was a heavy user of smoking decent weed? im in telford here by the way.

What do you mean you get them in the day too ? get what ? the bad dreams ? lol isn't that just because you sleep in the day ? where most people sleep in the night ? Hows everything apart from the nightmares. lacey

lol just realised you meant flushes ..... I get them in the day and night , in fact prob worse in the day as I'm awake to notice them more, but yes now you come to mention it , people do go on about it being more at night .... night sweats etc . Lacey

Hi guys Nice to see more people posting . As for sleeping problems, this really does get better after the first couple of weeks . In fact if anything sleeping patterns change for the better when compared to that of a chronic weed smoker. It's important to keep busy ,a good exercise regime is a great answer to a good nights sleep . As for the nightmares, this is a common occurrence reported in people detoxing from cannabis . Not only nightmares but very vivid dreams in general . This wears off after a few weeks as your brain gets used to remembering dreams again , a process which is hugely disabled as a result of regular weed smoking. Bear , perhaps you would like to elaborate on your quit issues ? Keep it up guys . Bruno Givingupcannabis.com:cool:

I once met this guy who only smoked salvia yet when he was coming off it he said he had really bad nightmares... I haven't really had bad dreams myself off weed, although i find if i smoke heavily last thing at night - I'm still stoned in the morning!!
